Let’s delve into the author’s insights.

Q1. Can you share the central theme of your book and why it’s relevant today?

The central theme of “How Salt and Pepper Make the Best Couple” is overcoming negative thinking in our fast-paced, information-heavy world. It’s especially relevant today as people struggle with self-doubt and external pressures. The book uses the legal profession as a backdrop to explore universal challenges in maintaining a positive mindset. Through the characters’ experiences, it offers practical strategies for personal growth and resilience. The title metaphorically represents balancing life’s challenges with positivity. Ultimately, the book aims to contribute to discussions on mental well-being and personal development, providing tools for thriving in an often overwhelming world.

Q2. How has your personal journey influenced your perspectives while writing this book?

My personal journey as a lawyer deeply influenced this book. I’ve experienced the pressures and self-doubt that Anisha and Shiva face. Mentors, like Acharya in the story, helped me reframe my thinking and overcome setbacks. A pivotal moment came when a senior colleague helped me learn from a lost case rather than be defeated by it. As I mentored younger lawyers, I noticed many were held back by negative thought patterns, inspiring me to explore overcoming these barriers. Writing the book was a process of self-reflection, allowing me to share insights from my experiences and mentor wisdom through Anisha and Shiva’s story.

The book was inspired by my desire to help people recognize and overcome self-defeating negative thinking. I’ve witnessed how this mental pattern holds people back across all walks of life. Through the characters’ stories, I aim to show readers how to break free from self-imposed limitations and reframe their thoughts positively. My inspiration comes from seeing people transform when they learn to overcome their mental constraints. Ultimately, I wrote this book to provide a practical guide for harnessing the power of the mind to shape reality, approach challenges with resilience, and unlock new possibilities.

Q3. Can you share an interesting aspect of your writing process?

One interesting aspect of my writing process was the way I developed the character of Acharya. I drew inspiration from various mentors I’ve had throughout my life, blending their wisdom and quirks to create a unique personality. To make his teachings more impactful, I would often act out the conversations between Acharya and the young advocates, speaking both parts aloud. This helped me refine the dialogue and ensure that Acharya’s advice felt natural and conversational, rather than preachy. It was a bit like method acting, but for writing!

Q4. Is there anything that you want to share with your readers?

I’d like to share with my readers that overcoming negative thinking is a journey, not a destination. The strategies in this book are tools, but you are the craftsman of your own mindset. Be patient with yourself, celebrate small victories, and remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Your mind is incredibly powerful – learning to harness that power positively can transform your life in ways you might not yet imagine. I hope this book serves as a companion on your journey to a more positive, resilient you.

Q5. Are there any future projects you’re currently working upon?

I am currently working on an idea centered around “Depression”. It’s a topic that I feel is incredibly important and often misunderstood. I’m really excited about this concept and am hoping to develop it into another self-help book, but with a unique approach similar to “How Salt and Pepper Make the Best Couple”.

My goal is to tackle this challenging subject in a way that’s both insightful and accessible to readers. I want to blend storytelling with practical strategies for understanding and managing depression, much like I did with negative thinking in my current book.

I’m still in the early stages, but I’m committed to bringing this idea to fruition. If all goes well, I’m aiming to finish the book and have it published before September 2024. It’s an ambitious timeline, but I believe the urgency of the topic warrants it. I’m looking forward to sharing more about this project as it develops.
