Navi Mumbai, Belapur: Nov 7, 2015: In an overwhelming show, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) organized ‘Walkathon’ successfully convened today is all set to make a new record for the Limca Books.
India’s third cleanest city, Navi Mumbai committed today to remain clean and spread the message of Swachh Navi Mumbai, Swachh Bharat as over 27,000 children took the Oath of Shramdaan, ensuring 100 hours every week would be invested by each individual every year, to maintain Cleanliness at home, at neighbourhood, at work and at surroundings.
On the occasion, Mayor Sudhakar Sonawane was sworn in along with Airoli MLA Shri. Sandeep Naik, Belapur MLA Mrs. Mandatai Mhatre, Member of the State Legislature Shri. Narendra Patil, Dy. Mayor Shri Avinash Lad, Municipal Commissioner Shri Dinesh Waghmare and Standing Committee Chairman Mrs. Netra Shirke, Leader of the House Shri. Jayawant Sutar, Health Committee Chairman Mrs. Poonam Patil, Corporator Dr. Jayaji Nath, Sunil Patil, Liladhar Naik and other municipal officials and employees were present.
Mayor Shri Sudhakar Sonawane & Commissioner Shri Dinesh Waghmare lighted the torch to ignite the minds of citizens and mark the spirit of ‘I am Smart, I am Navi Mumbai’.
Students of various schools performed at the Walkathon today. Joseph Brothers orchestrated the show celebrating nationality, children reverberated with enthusiasm ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘I am Smart, I am Navi Mumbai’.
Appealing citizens to post their innovative ideas and suggestions on the MyGov.in and on www.nmmconline.com/smartnavimumbai page, NMMC today made a remarkable impression on the citizens towards effective governance.
Over 5000 colourful balloons were released by children, pledging for the success of Navi Mumbai Smart City, thousands of proud citizens of Navi Mumbai concluded as one large family along with the corporation as their care-takers.
Held at the Ganpatsheth Tandel Maidan, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, NMMC successfully spread community messages for the safety, security, role and duties to our citizens of tomorrow.
Overwhelmed with the success, present at the venue, Smart City Navi Mumbai team ensured the show was a grand success with discipline, law and order maintained.
