“Vivartana – 2023”: A SBIHM Organized Commemoration of Transformation, Culinary Excellence, and Aptitude

“Vivartana – 2023,” the annual event of the Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management (SBIHM), was an extraordinary occasion celebrating the spirit of transformation and unity through a plethora of cultural and educational activities. It provided students of Hotel and Hospital Management and Fashion Designing with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their talents and skills on a grand scale.

The International Food Festival was the event’s centerpiece, where students from the Hotel and Hospitality departments presented a variety of delectable dishes, ranging from French Chicken Bourgion to Chinese Date Pancakes. The festival’s international cuisine offerings left guests in awe and thoroughly impressed. Moreover, the Hospital and Healthcare Department hosted a seminar on healthcare studies, while the Fashion Tech Department organized a radiant fashion show.

Eminent personalities, including celebrity Chef Vijay Malhotra, Chief Chef of ITC Royal Kolkata, renowned painter Mr. Subhaprasanna Bhattacharya, GMs of JW Marriott and Hyatt Regency Kolkata, and others, inaugurated the event. They lit the ceremonial lamp and cut the ribbon to commence the international food festival.

The event stood as a testament to SBIHM’s unwavering commitment to providing its students with first-rate infrastructure and education. Senior students ensured that junior students had equal opportunities to leverage the facilities and produce talent that excels in a global environment. With the guidance of experienced mentors and the support of first and second-year students, final-year students of Hotel and Hospitality Management splendidly arranged and presented the festival.

Chef Mrinmoy, the Culinary Mentor of SBIHM, dedicated himself to the event’s success. “We devote a substantial amount of time researching all elements that are involved in each project,” he said. “We will spare no effort to make the event a resounding success for everyone involved,” he added.

The event presented an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and talent before industry professionals and potential employers. Guests and invitees thoroughly enjoyed the cultural show, fashion show, healthcare seminar, and other thrilling activities in association with first and second-year students of other management courses.

“Vivartana – 2023” proved to be a triumphant event of inclusiveness, bringing the communities together, celebrating cultural diversity, and providing students with a platform to display their skills and talent.  It was a testimonial to the students’ diligence and commitment, along with the support of faculties and industry professionals who all hooked up to make the event a resounding success.
